LASO
at SMC
A bilingual home for student culture, leadership, and connections beyond campus.
I designed LASO’s website to bring events, student leaders, and contact options into one public hub for students, families, and community organizations.

The challenge
LASO had vibrant campus participation, but needed an official web presence where students could find events and regional Hispanic organizations and community sponsors could learn about its work.
The strategic solution
I built a bilingual, mobile-first hub around LASO’s students and culture. Event information, executive board profiles, and clear contact options help visitors understand the organization and find a way to get involved.
Cultural hub & event information
Event announcements, recaps, and galleries bring LASO’s campus activities into one place.
Student leadership & officer directory
Named roles and student profiles help visitors understand who leads the organization.
Direct email & community inquiries
Public contact options give students and outside organizations a way to reach LASO about participation, collaboration, or support.
English & Spanish content
Visitors can explore the organization, its people, and its activities in either language.

“Since Jean built LASO’s website, it’s been easier to share our students’ work and connect beyond campus. Organizations like the South Carolina Commission for Community Advancement and Engagement have found us through the site and reached out by email. It’s exciting to see that visibility open doors to new connections and opportunities for our community.”
Real-world outcomes
LASO has a public place to show its leadership, events, and outreach beyond campus. As its advisor reports, the South Carolina Commission for Community Advancement and Engagement found LASO through the website and contacted the organization by email.
What I bring to your project
An organization’s website should make its people and work easy to understand. Clear leadership information, useful event content, and a direct contact path help outside groups verify the organization and begin a conversation.
Let’s give your work a home, too.
I work with businesses locally in Upstate South Carolina and remotely. We can talk in English or Spanish.
